Talent Show 2010
Sloan participated in the Reality Ministries 2010 Talent Show along with many of his friends from TNL. It was so amazing and fun to watch everyone share their talents. Sloan had been preparing his act for several weeks before the show. He knew he wanted to play his piano, then about 4 days before the talent show, I overheard Noah and Sloan singing together. They were singing Let It Be by the Beatles. Sloan has been practicing that song with his Voices Together group, and I had heard him sing it before, but not like he was singing with Noah. I asked him if they would like to do that song for the talent show as well as the piano, and then the serious practice began. The big night came, and Sloan was slated to go on in the middle of all the performances. It was a packed house, with people standing in the back. Cameron brought out his crazy Don Seacrestki (Related to Ryan Seacrest???) character again, and worked the crowd like no one else can. To see and hear Sloan and Noah performing for yourself, click on the video link above. It was magical, and everyone in the audience was effected by Sloan's music. Sloan is the only person I know that can get a standing ovation from a two-letter word! Anything that goes on at Reality Ministries is always an amazingly supportive experience, and this night was no different. Sloan and Noah had to pause a few times because of all the cheering! Sloan's performance inspired his friend John Jay to write a sermon for one of his classes and Sloan is still getting compliments from everyone about his performance. Sloan is very proud of himself, and I couldn't be more proud of him for all the hard work and practice he put in and the beautiful music he created with Noah.
Sloan, YOU ROCK! (literally)
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to send this link to Jeff & Elizabeth.
It is such a privilege to be your friend, Sloan. I love you.

Thanks to Suzanne and Random for immortalizing this moment. Thanks for Wendy and Sloan for putting it up. It was great getting to play up there with Sloan.

Sloan,
ReplyDeleteI think you are such a great singer because you sang all those James "Baby" Taylor songs when you were little as well as all those great Christmas carols. Your talent show video was the "Bomb"! I didn't know you could play the keyboard so well. I think you and Noah are a terrific team and I look forward to more videos of your singing and playing. Lots of hugs and slobbery kisses from Aunt Joey and Uncle Dan!
