Party Like a Rock Star!

On January 16th, Sloan had his first annual Rock Star Birthday party. I know, his birthday is in December, but he is usually out of town partying with his family. Sloan has so many friends, that he wanted to celebrate with them too. And was it ever a celebration!! As our guest list grew, we soon realized that our little house was not going to be big enough. Reality Ministries came through for us again in a big way, and let us use the very cool game room at the Reality Center, absolutely free of charge. Thanks Reality Ministries!! Then planning mode kicked in, and Sloan had a lot of responsibilities in helping out with gathering the things we were going to need. He did an excellent job. So how did we do a Rock Star party????
Sloan's Entourage was in tow, with his agent, his stage mom/caterer, his roadie, drummer, back-up singers, and even the Paparrazi. All of Sloan's guests had to have VIP badges to get in "backstage." We invited everyone to rock out with their gear. Some guests even brought their own props! Friends could then grab as much pizza, fun snacks and a swag bag while mingling in the lounge area, or hop over to the tattoo parlor for a rockin' Tat. The few and brave even showed off their drum solo skills. (You rocked it Amy, Taylor and Symoni!) The Band- Noah on drums, and Jenna and Lara the back-up singers (music therapists), led a few sing-alongs, then Noah got everyone worked up with the coolest drum solo ever played at a party!

And no Rock Star party is complete without some guitar smashing!! Friends took turns smashing a guitar shaped pinata! ROCK 'N ROLL!!! Sloan had a cool playlist he put together that everyone could dance or sing along to. Some other highlights were David using his computer to sing Happy Birthday to Sloan, and Janie reciting a poem she wrote called "Sloanie Nuggets." Classic. After cake, and oh, there was cake, we all gathered around and played Rock Band Beatles. Everyone got a try with all the instruments, and you have never heard Yellow Submarine until you have heard Sloan and twenty of his friends singing it together!
Everyone had a great time, and Sloan is truly a Rock Star. We are planning to make it an annual event. No doubt it will get bigger and better every year. Who knows, the Rolling Stones may end up begging to play Sloan's party! It could happen people. Whoo!!
