Sloan wants to Rock 'N Roll all night and Party every day!

That was definitely the theme of Sloan's last week. It all started with us figuring out a new microphone stand for Sloan and his Wii. He has wanted to play Guitar Hero everyday since. The singing is really helping him strengthen his voice up, and he is consistently getting over 50% accuracy. Rock on Sloan!!

Sloan even had a chance to participate in a Guitar Hero competition at the Reality Center for their Chick 'N Chill. (An event hosted by Reality Ministries for students in Durham schools on their early release days. It was awesome! Sloan mingled with over 250 students.) Sloan didn't win, so that may also be why he is wanting to practice so much, but he had a great time listening to the students who made the top. Those kids are awesome!!!

And no rock 'n roll experience is complete without staying out all night at a club listening to a rock show! That is exactly what Sloan did on Saturday. His friend Jen invited him and Wendy to a show at the very cool Cat's Cradle in Carrboro to see a very good popular local band named Polvo. Not only did Sloan stay up that long, but he also got invited behind the curtain to have the side stage view all to himself during the headliner! YES! In true rock star fashion, Sloan has now decided he doesn't want to cut his hair.

There was some work involved in the Cat's Cradle show, though. Jen had to see it for a class she is taking to write a review. Sloan was also keeping notes to help her out.

Sloan's Review:

Savage Knights (Experimental Jazz)
How was the music? "Oww"
Would their music be good for Guitar Hero singing? "Uh-uh!" (No!)
Would their music be good for Guitar Hero guitar? "Uh-Uh!"

My Dad is Dead (Indy Rock)
How was the music? "Yea"
Would their music be good for Guitar Hero singing? "Uh-Uh"
Would their music be good for Guitar Hero guitar? "Yea"

Polvo (Rock)

Would their music be good for Guitar Hero singing? "YEA!"

There you have it folks...
